Over Four Decades of Golf, Fellowship & Professional Networking
“FOSTERING PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING AND CAMARADERIE THROUGH GOLF”
In the early 1980s, a group of professionals came together with the shared objective of uniting golf enthusiasts from Malaysia’s tourism and travel industry through their common passion for the game, professional fellowship, and enduring friendships. This collective vision led to the formation of the MALAYSIA FLYING GOLFERS (“MFG”). MFG was established with a simple yet meaningful purpose – to provide a platform where business relationships, camaraderie, and the spirit of sportsmanship could flourish both on and beyond the fairways.
As Malaysia’s tourism landscape continued to evolve, so too did MFG. Under the leadership of its first President, Dato’ Rashid Khan, and subsequently its Immediate Past President, Mr Kavin Martinus, MFG expanded its membership base to include professionals from the hospitality, transportation, tour operations, tourism authorities, and other related industries, as well as a growing network of individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.
Today, MFG stands proudly as one of Malaysia’s well-established golfing fraternities, bringing together more than 150 registered members from the tourism, hospitality, oil and gas, catering, media, and related sectors. On 22 April 2016, under its current President, Zulkifli Mohamad Razali, MFG was officially registered under its new name MALAYSIA FLYING GOLFERS ASSOCIATION (“MFGA”). MFGA continues to uphold and advance a legacy that began more than four decades ago, with Dato’ Rashid Khan serving as its Patron.
Beyond friendly competition, MFGA serves as a distinguished platform for professional networking, strategic collaboration, and the strengthening of lasting friendships. The Association organises seven to eight Monthly Medal tournaments annually at selected premier golf courses across the Klang Valley and Negeri Sembilan. In addition, MFGA hosts and participates in key golfing events, including the annual Northern Challenge, the long-standing International Tripartite Championship with fellow Flying Golfers Associations from Thailand and Singapore, and the prestigious MFGA Annual Championship, which attracts approximately 120 golfers from across the region.
Each tournament reflects the core values that define MFGA: integrity, fellowship, excellence, and a deep passion for the game of golf. More than a golfing association, MFGA is a respected community where meaningful relationships are cultivated, professional networks are strengthened, and proud traditions are preserved for future generations.

Dear Members, Partners and Friends,
Welcome to the official website of the MALAYSIA FLYING GOLFERS ASSOCIATION (“MFGA”).
For more than four decades, from its early beginnings as the MALAYSIA FLYING GOLFERS (“MFG”) to its present identity as MFGA, the Association has brought together professionals from the tourism, hospitality, aviation, and related industries through a shared passion for golf, professional fellowship, and enduring camaraderie.
While golf remains at the heart of the Association, it is the relationships built beyond the fairways that truly define MFGA. Through our tournaments, events, and regional engagements, we continue to strengthen professional networks, promote the spirit of sportsmanship, and provide meaningful opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and contribute.
As President, and together with the Committee and our dedicated volunteers, I remain committed to ensuring that MFGA continues to grow as a progressive, well-governed, and inclusive association. We will continue to uphold high standards in our golfing programmes, enhance member engagement, build strategic partnerships, and create lasting value for our members, partners, and stakeholders.
